Step 4
Submit & Rank Degree Preferences
After choosing a region and uploading documents, you must rank your degree choices in order of priority. Your ranking directly affects where you may be admitted.
How Ranking Works
- You can select multiple degrees.
- You must rank them from highest to lowest priority.
- You can only be admitted to one option at a time.
- The system checks your choices in order.
If you qualify for your first option, lower options are ignored. If not, the system evaluates the next one.
Understand Admission Scores (Nota de Corte)
Each degree has a minimum admission score from the previous year. This is called the “nota de corte”.
- It changes every year.
- It depends on demand and available seats.
- It is not a guaranteed threshold.
Use it as a reference — not a promise.
Practical Ranking Strategy
1. Include an Ambitious Option
Add one degree slightly above your estimated score. If competition is lower this year, you may get in.
2. Include Realistic Matches
Select degrees close to your expected score based on previous year references.
3. Include Safe Options
Add at least one degree with a lower previous admission score. This reduces the risk of receiving no offer.
Common Mistakes
- Submitting only one degree option
- Ranking emotionally instead of strategically
- Ignoring previous admission scores
- Choosing options without checking location or costs
Critical Reminder
Your ranking is final once submitted in most regions. Review carefully before confirming. A poor ranking strategy can cost you a full academic year.
